Fayette County Fair Queen Contest

APPLICATIONS DUE JUNE 1ST

We’re so excited you’re interested in being part of the Queen Contest! Below is everything you need to know to feel prepared and confident.

Contest Week Schedule

  • You can help with Junior Miss practice if you’d like

QUEEN CONTEST

Contest Day
  • Interviews will be in the afternoon (around 2 PM, depending on contestants)
  • You’ll have time on stage before and after your interview for a quick walk-through
  • Please note: Because you will be elevated on stage, choose formal wear that provides appropriate coverage and confidence from all viewpoints.
What to Wear
  • Practice: T-shirt (provided), black pants, sneakers (wear for first stage appearance)
  • Business wear: pants, knee-length skirt, or knee-length dress (Interview & Question)
  • If you choose to wear heels, they must be 3 inches or shorter
  • Formal wear: your evening gown
  • Please note: Because you will be elevated on stage, choose formal wear that provides appropriate coverage and confidence from all viewpoints.
What You Need to Turn In
  • A headshot (a selfie is totally fine—we’ll help format it)
  • Your completed form
  • Remember: what you submit goes directly to the judges

Who is eligible to run: young ladies, ages 17-21

Queen will receive a $500 scholarship; 1st and 2nd runners up will each receive a $250 scholarship

Miss Congeniality – voted on by fellow contestants

Fayette County Fair Junior Miss Contest

We’re so glad you’re joining Junior Miss! This is a fun and exciting experience, and we’re here to help you every step of the way.

  • Queen contestants may be there to help you practice

Contest Day

Note: Please note: only parents and/or guardians with a wristband will be allowed backstage after the contest for contestant pick up. 

What to Wear
  • Any sundress or spring/summer dress (NO formals or semi-formals).
  • Sneakers, sandals, or any shoe they feel comfortable walking in
Fair Queen Contest
  • Junior Miss winner will be recognized on stage with the newly named queen and the court during the Queen Contest on June 27th.
  • All contestants are invited to attend and sit in a designated spot during the queen contest.

Most importantly—have fun, be yourself, and enjoy the experience!

Join us Every Thursday from May 7, 2026 through October 29, 2026, EXCEPT the week of July 30, 2026 (July 30, 2026). The market will be open from daylight until 1 pm and is located at 2690 Park Road, Connersville, IN

$10 for a 20′ X 24′ space

What Can I Sell?

Saleable Items include things like antique and vintage items, clothing, toys, sporting equipment, tools, and more. No alcohol, vehicles or campers, guns, animals, pornography or elicit material of any kind.
